Dofus 2 Closes as Dofus 3 Takes the Stage: Everything You Need to Know About the Transition

The time has come! The grand launch of Dofus 3, complete with the new Pioneer servers, is just around the corner. On December 3, the servers will officially open, marking a significant transition as Dofus 2 closes its doors to make way for this highly anticipated third installment. Here’s everything you need to know about the upcoming changes and how to prepare.

Transitioning from Dofus 2 to Dofus 3

Dofus 2 will officially shut down to pave the way for Dofus 3. All servers, including historical ones, will transition to the new 3.0 version of the game. This transition signifies a major evolution in the Dofus universe, blending familiar elements with exciting new features.

Key Launch Details

The Pioneer Servers

The new Pioneer servers (mono-account and multi-account) will be the first to open on December 3. Historical servers will follow on December 4 after additional maintenance to migrate player data. This staggered approach aims to:

  • Ensure smooth server launches by addressing critical bugs on Pioneer servers.
  • Allow extra time for historical server migrations.

Pre-Download Available

To avoid launch-day issues, a pre-download option for the 3.0 client will be available starting November 29 or as late as December 2. To pre-download:

  1. Open the Dofus launcher.
  2. Select “3.0” from the dropdown menu in the top-right corner.
  3. Download the new version while retaining access to the Flash version of Dofus.

Experimental HD Pack

An experimental HD pack for Dofus 3 maps will be available starting December 10. While this pack significantly enhances visual quality, it may introduce longer loading times. Players can switch between SD and HD versions via the launcher settings.

Server Transfer Rules

Dofus 3 introduces instant server transfers with strict regulations to maintain balance:

  • Free transfers on Pioneer servers until January 1.
  • Daily transfer limit: One character per account.
  • Quota per server: 1,000 transfers per day.
  • No transfers from Pioneer servers to historical servers at launch.
  • Transfers allowed between mono-account and multi-account Pioneer servers, but not in reverse.

Gameplay Adjustments and Balances

Item Changes

In response to beta feedback, two items have been adjusted:

  • Cape of the Crazy Tofu:
    • Agility: Reduced from 100 to 60.
    • Wisdom penalty: -30.
  • Abracape:
    • Penalty changed to -50 (fixed).

Launch Bonuses

To celebrate the launch, several temporary bonuses will be active on Pioneer servers:

  • Increased Kolizéton generation.
  • Faster respawn rates for monsters, archmonsters, and harvestable resources.
  • Additional boss groups in specific dungeons.

Pre-Registration Rewards

Players who pre-registered for the Pioneer servers will find their characters already created upon first login. Pre-registered characters will also receive:

  • Young Celestial Gobball: +20 Wisdom for 500 fights.
  • Oat Flake Bread: 30 units restoring 50 HP each.
  • Companion Selection Box: Choose from Skale, Scoreur, Lumino, or Ombre (usable at level 30).
  • Jan’Ken’Pon Costume: A cosmetic outfit.
  • Binzu: An ornamental pet.

Additionally, new head appearances will be available from NPCs in cosmetic marketplaces, celebrating the milestone of 100,000 pre-registrations.

Miscellaneous Rules and Restrictions

  • Class changes are restricted on Pioneer servers at launch, except for the free change offered by the NPC in Incarnam. Changing class disqualifies characters from earning Pioneer achievements.
  • Access to full servers will be restricted unless a character already exists on them.
  • The Bak exchange will be separated between Pioneer and historical servers as well as between mono-account and multi-account Pioneer servers.

Conclusion

The countdown to Dofus 3’s launch is almost over. As Dofus 2 makes way for this next chapter, we thank the incredible community for their dedication throughout the beta testing phase. Your feedback has been invaluable in shaping this update, and we’re excited to embark on this new adventure with you.

Mark your calendars for December 3—the era of Dofus 3 is about to begin!
